Service Description
Whether you’re newly pregnant, planning ahead for birth, or simply curious about what a doula does, this free discovery call is a relaxed chance for us to get to know each other with no pressure to book anything afterwards. We’ll chat about where you’re currently at in your pregnancy or journey into parenthood, any worries or questions you may have, and the kind of support you’re looking for. I can also talk you through my doula packages, birth planning support, and how I work with families to help them feel calm, informed, and cared for throughout pregnancy, birth, and the early postnatal period. This call is completely informal and there’s no expectation or commitment. It’s simply a space for you to explore your options, ask honest questions, and see whether my support feels like the right fit for you. You deserve to feel heard, supported, and confident as you prepare for birth - and this is a gentle first step towards that.
Cancellation Policy
Scope of Doula Support: Doula support is non-medical emotional, physical, and informational support during pregnancy, birth, and/or the postnatal period. Doula services do not replace care from a midwife, doctor, or other healthcare professional. I do not perform clinical tasks, diagnose conditions, make medical decisions, or give medical advice. Booking & Payment: -If you are booking a service as an add on or as a one off, please ensure you have paid at least 24 hours in advance. If you are booking as part of your package with me, I will not be able to refund you as you applied for a package as per the contract you signed. I will send an invoice through to you when you book with me. I will try to get it sent over as soon as I can but please allow me 24 hours. -Payments are non-transferable unless otherwise agreed in writing. Cancellations & Refunds: -To cancel or reschedule, please let me know asap I understand that when you have children it is hard to preempt last minute changes in your schedule but I would appreciate knowing at least 24 hours in advance. -Deposits are non-refundable -Refunds for remaining balances will depend on how much support has already been provided -No refunds will be issued after on-call support has begun unless under exceptional circumstances If I am unable to attend your birth due to illness, emergency, or circumstances beyond my control, reasonable efforts will be made to arrange backup doula support where possible. Communication: Support hours and response times will be discussed during onboarding. While I aim to respond promptly, I may not be immediately available outside agreed working hours unless you are in active labour and on-call support applies. Client Responsibility: Clients remain fully responsible for their own healthcare decisions and medical care. Any concerns regarding health or safety should be directed to a qualified healthcare professional. Confidentiality: All personal information shared during our work together will be kept confidential unless: -Disclosure is required by law -There is a serious concern regarding safety or safeguarding Photography & Testimonials Any testimonials, birth stories, or images shared publicly by Megan the Doula will only be used with explicit written consent. Changes to Services Services, pricing, and availability may occasionally change. Any agreed bookings will honour the terms in place at the time of booking.
